【作品紹介】古八代焼 亀形銚子
酒器 / 上野喜楽 作
熊本県八代市の「八代妙見祭」にでてくる亀蛇（きだ）を模した酒器です。
地元では「ガメ」と呼ばれています。
妙見祭は380年の伝統があり、この作品も江戸時代のものです。
力強く彫られた甲羅の亀甲模様は長寿を意味し、祭りの迫力も伝わるようです。
【Collection】Koyatsushiroyaki Gamegatacyoushi
This is the SAKE pot modeled after a mythical creature called Kida (a combination of a turtle and snake, locally called Game) appears in Yatsushiro Myoken Festival, Kumamoto.
Myoken Festival has 380 years of tradition, this pot is also made in the Edo period.
The hexagonal pattern of a carapace symbolizes longevity, it’s powerfully carved patterns showing spectacul atmosphere of the festival.
